Nourish your body with a clean, whole foods diet, and feed your soul with a robust mind-body practice!
A fundamental underpinning of the To Make a Mommy Fertility Plan is the belief that we can heal ourselves and become truly healthy and fertile by nourishing our bodies and souls. This means that every time we consider eating or drinking something or we plan a new activity we think to ourselves, “will this endeavor increase the energy my body can provide to my ovaries, eggs, and womb? Or will it take energy away from my reproductive organs?” If you have been struggling with “infertility” and have diagnoses like “diminished ovarian reserve” or “unexplained fertility” you absolutely need to stop, take a break, and focus on feeding yourself a nourishing diet of whole foods and developing a robust mind-body practice!
In my first year and a half or so of struggling with infertility I was convinced that I needed to diagnose all my little problems and treat them with supplements.
- Did I have a short luteal phase? Maybe I should convince my doctor to supplement with progesterone.
- Was my cervical mucous the wrong viscosity? Maybe I should take a cough syrup around ovulation.
- Was there something wrong with my uterine lining? Maybe I needed to take an aspirin every day.
The list went on and on. I tried all sorts of things- medicines, supplements, hormone-affecting herbs, maca, royal jelly, etc. It didn’t matter how long the list of pills, gels, or powders I was using got, I wasn’t getting pregnant.
Finally, I decided to take a break from all that and just focus on getting healthy.
If you get healthy- if you bring your mind, body and spirit into perfect alignment – then everything else heals itself.
In other words, if you fully nourish yourself, then everything else falls in line. Your luteal phase self-corrects, your cervical mucous is the right viscosity, your uterine lining, and most importantly, your eggs are strong, healthy, and plentiful!
You don’t have to take a huge regimen of supplements and medicines. All you need is nourish yourself to ultimate health. If you are a non-smoker and have a healthy BMI you can do this in three months.
